Today & Upcoming Weekend

Tonight was Gabe's last t-ball practice/game - not sure what to call it as they don't "really" play games, at his age they just learn and practice the different techniques and skills. Anyways, it was his last night, so now our Thursday evenings are free throughout July.

After it was done tonight, I asked Gabe what he thought about baseball/t-ball and if he liked it...because when I signed him up I said to him that he had to try a bunch of different things, including sports, but ranging to art, music, etc. After he tried a few different things he could then decide what he really enjoyed and what he didn't like so much. The only answer that I got when I asked him that tonight was this "Mom, I like t-ball" - so I gues that means he had fun and at his age I guess that's all that matters. So, we'll see this upcoming year if his interest stays peaked in baseball or if he will get into something else like soccer or hockey or even music!

It was pretty hot and humid here today, so sitting outside this evening before sunset was pretty warm and the kids were warm. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining because I LOVE the warm weather, but it is hard on the kids sometimes, so Ethan & I spent a lot of time in the shade while Conrad & Gabe played t-ball. I included some pictures of the boys (of course) from tonight - don't they both look so TAN! They get sunscreened every day, but because they are outside so much, they've gotten some good color.

We have a busy weekend ahead of us, not too much going on for Friday, but on Saturday we have a birthday party to go to at Pump-It-Up on Saturday morning, then maybe to the waterpark in Faribault.

Saturday night we are going out to dinner with some friends and then heading to a birthday/early 4th of July party without the kids! Thanks Aimee for getting a babysitter!

On Sunday we are going to the MN Twins game with my entire family, there will be 11 of us including the kids. The Twins are playing the Milwaukee Brewers; it should be a good game as the Twins are on a winning streak right now.

That about covers the whole weekend - WHOO, it makes me tired just talking about it! I'm hoping that the weekend will be enjoyable and that the weather cooperates. Hope everyone has a good weekend too, I'll try to post again soon.

I'm trying to get better at updating, but it seems like there are never enough hours in the day!

So, I'll recap both last weekend and this coming weekend. Last weekend my cousin Erica got married back in Marshall. The wedding and the bride were both so beautiful and the reception and dance were LOTS of fun. BUT, I sure did feel old hanging out and partying with all the "twenty-something" year olds, but it was super fun!!

Well - we're getting into the summer activities now and they will be keeping us busy! Gabe started t-ball this past week and really seems to enjoy it. At his age they don't really play game, they just work on skills like hitting, catching and running the bases - it's really kind of cute (although he's kind of "over" me calling him cute)! Here are a few pictures of Gabe all ready to play ball.

And because I can't leave out my other little guy - here's a picture of Ethan!

I am helping my friend Kelly with a garage sale this weekend, she has kindly let me bring TONS of my "boy" stuff over to her house. Then we are meeting my parents at a campground to go camping on Saturday night - we're keeping our fingers crossed for some nice weather. Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Well, I haven't been doing a very good job at keeping this updated. The boys really are growing up so fast! They are both so much fun and really enjoy playing outside now that the weather has started to warm up.

Gabe is really into Star Wars and Transformers. He will be finishing up preschool in the next couple of weeks, being that his birthday is in early September, he will have another year of preschool next year and then will go to Kindergarten the following year. He will be almost 6 years old by the time he starts Kindergarten, so I guess I'll get to look forward to him being one of the first ones to drive in his class when he gets older!

We'll be busy this summer with activities for Gabe, he is playing baseball in June, swimming & a sports (basketball, soccer, baseball) camp and swimming lessons in July and then soccer in August. The idea is to try out a few different things to see what he really enjoys. We'll get into hockey when the fall/winter comes around!

Ethan is now 2 years old and is into everything that his brother is into. He really hasn't shown much interest in the typical "toddler" things, he skipped right over the Little People and plays with the Transformers and Power Rangers with his older brother. He is beginning to develop signs of the "terrible twos"; Ethan is typically very mild mannered and laid back, however lately he has been discovering new ways of expressing himself and some of them have been interesting for sure!

Ethan is a sweet boy with lots of personality and a big heart! It is hard to believe that he's not a little boy anymore, time sure does go by fast!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! Even though it's a little late...

Things have been hectic and busy around here, but we had a good holiday season in spite of coughs, colds and runny noses - for everyone!

I will share photos of the holidays soon, but I first wanted to share the entire photo shoot of our family that our neighbor did in late November. We used a few of these pictures on our Christmas cards.

Up for the Challenge?

I have been trying and (hopefully succeeding) in becoming more healthy over the past few months. We have some great walking/running paths around our house and I have been taking advantage of the warm fall weather and have become a runner (if you can call it that) over the past few months.

I do enjoy running and did much more of it "pre-kids", which was over 5 years ago now! I look forward to my 3 mile run each day because it allows my mind to relax and give me a chance to clear my head of the days craziness!

Although I will probably NEVER be up to a full marathon, I am confident that I can accomplish a 5K pretty easily.

I will be running in the Lifetime Fitness 5K Reindeer Run on December 1st at Lake Harriett. I am excited and hoping that it will not be too cold that day! If you want to join me, you can find more information at the link below.

Not really, but the boys sure enjoy dressing up in costumes every now & then. Last night Ethan got dressed up at Woody from Toy Story and Gabe was a Firefighter. Here are a few pictures...

Gabe was Optimus Prime from the Transformers and Ethan was Elmo! Both their favorites characters these days.

Even though it was kind of cold & windy, we still got about an hour and a half of trick or treating in last night. The boys got PLENTY of candy - enough to last until next Halloween!

Where we've been and what we've been doing....

I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything. Life has been busy, although I can't specifically say with what, but we've had a lot going on.

Here's a recap:
After Gabe came down with strep throat back in early September, Ethan came down with it a few days later and then I got strep too! So, we spent about a week and a half being sick and trying to recover!

We did get a chance to celebrate Gabe's birthday with my family on his actual birthday - I'll post some pictures. We had to reschedule his kids party for late September. We celebrated it on September 29th and had our neighbors and friends over for a late 4th birthday celebration - it was a great time and we thank everyone for taking the time to reschedule and come on a later date!

Gabe started preschool in September, he goes on Monday, Wednesday & Friday in the mornings - he loves it and asks every morning if he is going to preschool today.

We went to the State Fair, watched the Vikings and went to a MN Wild preseason hockey game - it was Ethan's 1st hockey game, both boys seemed to have a good time.

Other than that, we tried to enjoy the warm September and adjust to new schedules and a new daycare (which we all love)!

a boy who has strep throat??

The timing couldn't have been worse. Gabe came down with strep throat on Friday afternoon, less than a day from his 4th Birthday party! What a huge bummer! We had to cancel his party and reschedule it until later in the month.

Luckily, my parents, sister, brother, sister-in-law, nephews, aunt & grandma were still able to make the trip from various locations to come and help Gabe celebrate on a much smaller scale.

Gabe's actualy birthday is today, I can't believe that he is already 4 years old! I can still remember very clearly where I was at and what I was doing this time 4 years ago. Gabe was born very quickly and I guess that was a sign of his personality as he is always on the go and doesn't like to sit still.

We are very blessed to have such a wonderful boy in our life!

Labor Day Weekend

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

We had a nice, relaxing weekend! We spent some time with our neighbors & friends, went to the State Fair and just tried to enjoy as much time as we could outside. I guess "reality" will set in tomorrow when it is back to work.

Last week my hotel was sold and the hotel now has new owners and managers. This is a huge bummer for me as much of the reason I took this position a year and a half ago was because of my manager (now former). So, we will see what this week brings, I'm sure there will be some changes, hopefully one of them is not eliminating my job! Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Gabe is starting his 2nd year at preschool in Lonsdale on Wednesday. He will be going M-W-F in the mornings, he is very excited and I'm anxious for him to get into a routine again. We are getting ready for his birthday party on September 8th, I can't believe he's going to be 4 years old already!

Ethan's favorite word this past weekend was "NO" - seems he now really understands what it means and uses it all the time!

All in all, we had a nice weekend and I am sad to see the "unoffical" end of summer. I can't say the same for Conrad because he really enjoys the winter!

I can't believe that it's almost September! We've starting planning for Gabe's 4th birthday party and are trying to enjoy what is left of the summer.

Here are some pictures of what we did this summer....Conrad's family came to visit in June, we played outside and went swimming alot! The circus came to Lonsdale and we celebrated Heather & Mom's birthday. We went to the zoo and got a chance to go camping! The boys also went camping wtih my Mom & Dad, along with Colby & Mason - they had a great time!

Who would have thought that I could enjoy having 2 boys so much! Ethan is 11 months old and is really developing a personality. Gabe who is 3 1/2 years old so enjoys playing with Ethan, at least right now - I hope they grow up to be best friends!
